International Women's Day

International Women's Day

"The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.” - Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist.

Started by the Suffragettes in the early 1900's, the first International Women's Day was celebrated in 1911. Today, International Women's Day belongs to all communities everywhere and whether through a global conference, community gathering, classroom lesson or dinner table conversation - everyone can play a purposeful part in pressing for gender parity!

In 2019 the focus for International Women’s Day is #BalanceforBetter.

Better the balance, better the world.

Balance is not a women's issue, it's a global issue. The race is on for the gender-balanced. Here at Fenn Wright Manson we buck the trend by promoting equally at all levels.

We asked our team to pick some quotes for International Women’s Day that they found inspirational – quotes by women, about women. Here they are:

"There is no limit to what we as women can accomplish." Michelle Obama

"I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard...we cannot succeed when half of us are held back." Malala Yousafzai
